Removing a painted screw results in chipped paint around the screw hole, and touching
up the paint is difficult to impossible. These tools are designed to guide off of
the phillips slots of the screw and cut a ring in the paint around the head of the
screw before the screw is removed. This reduces the chance of excess paint chipping.
Tool has 1/4”-28 threads. Cutter can be turned using a power screwdriver or
by hand-- it only takes a few turns to score the paint enough to avoid chipping paint.6511 # 4 .254”
